The Love Story Media Launches New Creative Writing Workshops “Mirror Darkly” that Redefine Tragedy into Hope

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 6, 2020, Love Story Media, Inc., a California non-profit that is transforming the lives of the broken hearted, announced that they are releasing new Mirror Darkly Journaling Workshops throughout 2020. These virtual courses on how to fuse journaling, journalism, with a personal journey, encourage their writers known as Journal-Artists to “Break Their Heart Open” to express their tragedy into a love story. The Journal-Artists write within fiction based on a true story to avoid casting blame or shame. With males making up 79% of all suicides and suicide being the second leading cause of death among young adults ages 25-35, at the root of their programs, “the focus is on character building through hope, faith, and love, and the greatest of these is love defined in 1 Corinthians 13.”
The love and compassion revealed in 1 Corinthians 13 inspired the workshop’s name, “Mirror Darkly.” The journaling workshops revolve around the belief that when we illuminate our shadows, we “become
the mirror for someone else’s transformative journey.” During the Mirror Darkly journaling workshops, the Journal-Artists have a choice of writing from passion or pain. They then browse the Love Story’s library of Artist-Inspired entries or interviews and pull a quote that resonates with them. The Journal-Artists use this quote as a prompt for their journal entry where they write for 15 minutes distraction free.
Mirror Darkly Journaling Workshops include Journal-Artist Mentors to “hold space, accountability, and structure.” As Journal-Artists, they will be exploring their tragedies and discovering their underlying needs, leading them towards collective inner healing.
